Braves Game

 While Sydney was in Pigeon Forge, the rest of us (plus Taylor's friend) went to the Braves game!

Sydney went to Pigeon Forge with her uncle (my brother), aunt, and two cousins after Memorial Day weekend.  She had so much fun!  Here are some pics my brother sent me:

End of School for Parker!

Parker wrapped up his 4th grade year!  It was a good year for him, and it definitely challenged and pushed him harder than any grade before.  I'm so proud of him for getting all A's and rocking the Milestones!

Taylor's Broken Wrist :(

 Well, Taylor has made it this far without getting a big injury playing basketball... but that time came to an end in mid-April.  She was playing a game, playing defense, and the girl with the ball was dribbling and shoved her down.  It should've been a foul (the refs actually called a foul on Taylor!!) (these refs were horrible) but it didn't end up mattering... regardless, Taylor's wrist was definitely broken.  

Off to CHOA we went.  After waiting a little while and finally going back, they x-rayed her wrist.  Her bones were displaced, definitely broken, and her growth plate was fractured.  Luckily, the displacement was a "medium" level and could be re-set without surgery.  

The docs told us that evening was "break a bone day", because there were about 8 kids in front of Taylor waiting to have their bones set.  They had to put her to sleep, because the doc said they needed her to be calm so he could make sure the bones are lined up perfectly.  He said this would be super painful, so putting her to sleep would be the best option.

The setting of the bones was quick, and, oh... Taylor coming out of anesthesia is HILARIOUS.  We have some great videos! ;)

She was casted and we were finally able to leave (9 hours later) after midnight.

The doc said she'd probably be in the cast for 8-10 weeks which meant, yes... no basketball.  Such a bummer.

I have to say that Taylor has an amazing group of people- both kids and adults- around her in her life.  I wanted to document some of the sweet things people did!

Knoxville!  Taylor was a fantastic water girl.

Her teammate, Ella, ended up fracturing her left wrist in Knoxville!!!  This made me chuckle a little, watching them practice together.

She got her cast off after 5 weeks!  Her left arm looks like a skeleton.

Grizzly Games

The girls had their Grizzly Games the week before school got out!  This is always a fun time.  The kids get t-shirts that they decorate, typically at sleepovers on school nights.  Then, they get to play all kinds of games by grade level, and then ultimately a certain team wins!  Sydney actually got to participate this year (versus the last 2 when she had knee issues) and Taylor got to participate (ish, even though she had her cast on) and she got to help out with 7th and 8th grade games!
