Parker in action!

13 months!

Parker is 13 months old!!

His first month as a one year-old has been a fun one.  He's definitely acting more like a toddler than a baby!

Accomplishments include:

• He has entered the big world of... walking!  The day after he turned one, he took his first official steps.  He slowly increased in his ability, going from 2-3 steps at a time to 5-6 to now basically being a stable walker. It's so exciting!
• No more bottles!  We packed those up completely and now he only drinks from sippy cups.
• He has started "talking" more, and making lots of noises/syllables.  He says "mama", "dada" and "uh oh" pretty regularly.  His teacher said that he saw Sydney on the playground at daycare and was saying "Se Se Se Se Se".  He's getting there!
• He went to south GA for the 3rd time.  He is the best car traveler... ever!
• He's starting to be a picky eater!  If there's something we put on his tray that he doesn't like, he will pick it up and throw it on the floor. ;)
• This kid loves playing with cords.  I'm thinking be may be an electrical engineer when he grows up.  It's like he spots them from a mile away and is drawn to any cord he sees.
• He is starting to fill out his 18 month clothes!!

Back to the grind!

Ahhh... you have to love being off work.  It's been a pretty hectic, stressed 9 weeks of school.  Fun, exciting, motivating... but exhausting.  I welcomed this break with open arms!  I had a wonderful week off of work last week.  It's so nice to have a few days of doing nothing, resting, catching up after the hustle and bustle of normal life. 

So, the weekend before my break started was a fun one, if you recall.  On Sunday, we went to church and Sydney went home with Raegan for a playdate.  It was a quiet house, having Taylor and Parker nap at the same time.  I got a good bit done around the house for once!

The rest of the week was a mixture of things... I had literally every appointment under the sun (physical for me, dentist for me, annual check-ups for Sydney and Parker, ENT for Taylor, eye doctor for me, and hair appointment for me).  There was something every day!  Between all the appointments, Stephen was gone for 4 days, I tried to get some good jogs in, I did a lot around the house, I cooked some meals to freeze for the work week, made S and P's yearly photo albums, IRONED (like, 55 things.  I have a wardrobe again!), and more.  Most importantly, I "slept in", got to see some friends, chilled with the kiddos, found out my bro and his wife are having a baby GIRL, and went on two date nights.  Not too shabby.

12 Month Stats (Sydney's stats, too!)

I took Parker and Sydney to the doctor for their well check-ups yesterday.  I thought, since I'm off of work this week, I'd have the time to do theirs back-to-back.  It took about 2 hours to get both of theirs done.  It wouldn't have been so bad- Sydney is pretty hands-off when it comes to entertaining- except she was FREAKED OUT about getting shots.  So, she was acting clingy, sad, and terrified.  Then, Parker got really sleepy after the first hour, so it was a bit of a mess.  So, my note to self for next year- do them separately!!

OK, enough about that.  Their stats are in!  Drum roll...

Parker's 12 month stats:

Weight: 25 lbs, 14 oz. (82nd%)
Height: 32" (>97th%)
Head Circumference: 48 1/2" (92nd%)

I read an article that said babies, at one year, should have grown 10 inches and tripled their birth weight.  Parker has grown 11 inches and not quite tripled his birth weight (9 lbs, 10 oz).  That would be if he was 28 lbs, 14 oz. 

Everything looked great- he has met developmental milestones, except I expressed concerns about his communication.  Sydney and Taylor were both saying more at this age than Parker is.  The doctor told me that he's a boy and he's the 3rd child (that the other 2 talk over him) but she said to monitor for the next 3 months and we can talk more about it at his 15 month check-up. 

Onto Sydney... she is 43 1/4 inches tall and weighs 41.8 pounds!  She made it through her two shots (though I had to restrain her) and is looking very healthy.

Fun times!

We've had a fun weekend already, and it's only Saturday!

Friday night, Stephen and I went to the Braves playoff game.  What a game it was! 

Saturday morning, I went to a jewelry party at a neighbor's house.  I got back from that, picked up Sydney, and we went to Corn Dawgs for a friend's birthday party.  I love this place! 

After we got home, Erica came to visit!  (randomly, she was joining a friend from Dunwoody who was taking her little boy to Corn Dawgs!) 

Then, we watched some football, ate some dinner, played and played, and now we are all either asleep or lounging around.  Tomorrow includes church, a playdate for Sydney, and us just chilling together.  A perfect weekend!
