May!

I think May is easily the busiest month of the year.  Sports are wrapping up, yet still in full swing; school events are frequent; the weather is all of a sudden nice, so there's the temptation to get out and go.  May both dragged on and flew by (time is always such a strange concept). Now that we are in June, I wanted to make sure I documented the little things we did in May.

Hillsong United concert: Stephen and I had a date night- dinner downtown and then off to see our favorite band, Hillsong!  They didn't disappoint.

Sydney hosted game night!

 I got a random migraine (it was AWFUL) while at one of Sydney's tournament games.  When we got home, I went to sleep for the rest of the day.  Sydney made me this- things each person would do to help me feel better. 💗

We had 8 kids playing kickball upstairs.  You could probably imagine what it sounded like downstairs.

Other events, not pictured: Taylor going to her friend's church for "Bring a Friend" Day- a big picnic and other fun, Hiking with Ashley, PTA Board celebratory lunch (hooray, I'm done! ;), painting bags for the 4th graders, lots of games and practices, water balloon fun at Parker and Madison's house, Mom and Dad over a couple of times, PTA volunteering at the school, Taylor's friend, Willa, coming home off the bus with her, and a tournament for Sydney.

Atlanta United Escort

Sydney had a really cool opportunity in May... she was asked to be an escort for the Atlanta United team!  Her soccer program had an opportunity to escort out the Atlanta United 2 players a few months back, which was a cool enough experience... but this is the "real deal"!  (A family friend of ours who runs a soccer program in Johns Creek hooked her up)

We had to get to the stadium a couple of hours before the game.  We checked Sydney in and dropped her off with the other kids who were escorting players.  She got to go down to the locker room, change into a uniform, and hang out on the sidelines while the players warmed up.

Meanwhile, we got to go down to the lower-level seats and watch the players warm up as well.  We got on the big screen a couple of times, and I got a wave from Josef Martinez!

We then met up with some friends before the game before heading to our seats.

Sydney escorted out a the goalie from the other team (Orlando) and they held hands, walking out on the field to do all the pre-game stuff.

Afterwards, she got to come back and sit with us for the rest of the game!  It was a blast... something she won't ever forget.

Sydney- Awards Day

Last but not least, SYDNEY!  I cannot believe that next year is my sweet Sydney's last year in elementary school.  How in the world did that happen?

Sydney rocked it out this year.  She got several awards, including All A Honor Roll, Attendance, Technology award, Math Award, Fitness Award, and she was the girl winner who ran the most laps in the whole grade for their fitness test!  So proud.

After her ceremony, the whole 4th grade met in the cafeteria, where they had a little doughnut reception, and the kids, parents and students could mingle.

 Sydney has had a really great year overall.  Super proud of her maintaining a crazy year of sports and school!  Here's to 5th grade!  (sniff)
