Summer, week 4!

Monday:  Today started off right with the babysitter, me running, and going to a couple of different stores.  I came home, and the kids played around the house while I did some laundry/putting stuff up.  That afternoon, we went to a park, fed the ducks and geese, then ran to Walmart.  The kids were a DREAM at Walmart.  I think they were so hot and tired from the park.  We came home, at dinner, and played some more.  Stephen was out of town for half this week, so it was just me!

Seeing her friends at daycare!  She was so excited.

Tuesday: Whew, what a day!  Our babysitter came this morning for about an hour and a half, and I ran and went to Walmart.  Then, I went home and took the kids to swimming lessons.  The girls did great!!  Still no swimmers, but Sydney seems to be getting close.  Then, we came home, ate lunch, and Parker took a nap.  The maid came right after Parker went down, so the girls were very excited to see her that they didn't rest.  Parker didn't sleep too long, so we left the house once he got up to give the maid some space.  We met up with Raegan and her mom at the froyo place.  Then, we went to an arcade to check it out, and then to the dollar store.  The girls get to buy treats with the money that's leftover in their whining jars.  Wow, now I know how to kill an hour if I need to... go to the dollar store!  The girls couldn't decide!  Then we went to Publix and then came home.  Stephen is still out of town, so we just hung out tonight.  A great day, I'm just tired!

Wednesday:  Today, babysitter came over, we did the same routine.  When I got home, I took the kids to the library for story hour again.  Then, we ate lunch, Parker took a nap.  When he got up, we went on a nature scavenger hunt outside, and then came back home and played Candy Land and did a puzzle.  I was SO TIRED today- Stephen was gone all week and got back late this afternoon.  Thank goodness, because this 24/7 solo parenting thing wore me out this week.  We went to church grow group this evening, and came home and chilled the rest of the evening!

Princesses.

You can't tell very well, but this stick was shaped like an F (she had to find a stick shaped like a letter)

Thursday: Today, the babysitter came, and when I got home, I took the girls to swim lessons in the morning, and gymnastics in the afternoon.  In between, we watched the USA soccer game.  Stephen worked from home today, so he kept Parker with him all day, which made it easier on me... it gets hard keeping Parker entertained!  Before gymnastics, we went to a little splash park.  There were some big kids that would push the girls around, so they didn't enjoy it that much. :(  The girls enjoyed gymnastics.  We got home, ate dinner, played a bit, and hit the sack!

Friday: The babysitter came, and Stephen and I went to a park to run 5 miles!!  I was so proud of us.  Then, I took the girls to swimming lessons.  I am so excited to say that we (basically) have a swimmer in Sydney!!!!  She's a little frantic-looking with her strokes, but she's moving, floating, putting her head under, and not touching the ground!  She is so excited.  I'm hoping that the next few lessons will seal the deal.  We came home, ate lunch, Parker took a nap, and we packed up the car.  We headed up to the mountain house for the weekend!  We had a good trip until poor Parker threw up everywhere.  Luckily, that was the only time he threw up all weekend, so I'm not sure what brought it on.  Anyways, we cleaned him up, stripped him down, and continued on our way.  We took a golf cart ride when we got there, saw some friends, and hung out with my sister and her friend who was in town.

Feeling better!

Saturday: We ate breakfast at the local eatery, Cendy's.  Then, we went straight to the lake!  We were the early birds this morning, and the fish and tadpoles were rampant.  Taylor wanted nothing to do with them.  When more people came, the wildlife was scared off and Taylor was okay to go then.  We played for a couple of hours at the lake, then came home, napped, ate lunch.  That night, we threw a big 40th bash for my sister!  About 35-40 people came, and my mom and I cooked appetizers, dinner, decorated the place, etc.  It was fun!  We didn't go to bed until waaaay past all our bedtimes (Sydney didn't go to sleep until 11:15 PM!) but it was worth it.

Not digging the tadpoles.

The view on our walk.

Sunday: Stephen and I went for a run together this morning, and then we headed to chapel.  We all took turns chasing after Parker, who is at that age where sitting still is just not possible.  We ate lunch and then hit the road!  We stopped by my parents' house to help them move something, and we stopped at a pizza place to get some dinner before we made it home.  It was a great week!
