March!

March was a blur of work, school, basketball and track.  Taylor won the state championship Friday night and had to run her first meet Saturday morning (she couldn't do track until basketball was over) and then she pulled a muscle in her leg and had to sit out for 3 weeks.  So, she only ran I think 2 races this season!  Sydney was able to do a full season, which was great!

Sydney- Prom!

 Sydney went to her junior prom this month!  She went with her best girlfriends, and some boys who are good friends with the boyfriend of one of her friends.  That's a lot of using the word "friends" so hopefully you could keep up. 

They spent the day getting ready, took pictures in downtown Woodstock, took a limo to prom (at Truist Park) and then spent the night at one of the girls' houses!  They had a blast and all looked gorgeous!

State Champs!

Taylor's basketball team did it... they won the 5A state championship!!  It was a very exciting run!

They ended up being 3rd in their region- only the top 4 teams in the region make the playoffs, and the 3rd and 4th seeds have to travel and be the away team for every game, going to the 1st and 2nd place teams' homes.  So, they had to travel to Leesburg, Douglasville, Loganville, Atlanta, and Macon.  Whew!

We didn't go to the Leesburg game, but we got to see Taylor on TV!

Going to Loganville was super fun.  It's the high school our kids would've gone to if we hadn't moved.  We had so many friends come cheer Taylor on!  They played them in the Elite 8 and won.

In the Final 4 game, we had to face another Cherokee County team, who beat us twice in the regular season.  They were also state champs last year!  We didn't have high hopes, but... we won!

Onto the championship game!  We had to play Milton... in Macon... (Milton HS is about 15 minutes down the road from us).  They were a 1 seed and everyone pegged them to win.  It was back and forth the entire game, but we pulled it out and won by 2 points!!!

Such an exciting run!!  The school and community rallied around these girls!  We had so many kids come down to Macon to cheer them on.  It will be hard to match her freshman year!

They had the basketball banquet after the season was over.  Here are some pics:
