Dining Room Makeover

Ahh, I have finally finished up our dining room!  Only about 1.5 years in. ;)

Our dining room was driving me CRAZY because the colors just didn't go.  Our walls are a very light gray with white trim; the table legs, chairs, and serving piece were all a dark ivory/light tan.  The cushions are gray.  It just didn't flow.

I bought a piece of wall art that I LOVE that pulled in white, gray, and ivory- I was hoping that would help.  It didn't.  I figured I either needed to go with the ivory and paint the walls (and possibly the white wall panels) colors that would go together; or I could go with the white/gray (like the walls/trim) and paint all the furniture.

I opted for the second choice, and I am so happy with how it turned out!!!

I painted all the chairs and the bench white.  I painted the base of the table and the serving piece gray.  I replaced an old ivory wreath I made with a mirror.  I bought some sheer gray curtains that I hung.

Not sure if the pics do it justice but I am SO happy with it!!  Interior design is definitely not one of my strong suits, but I'm happy this room finally came together.

Christmas break

It's hard to believe Christmas break is over.  I feel like once it's over, the rest of the school year FLIES!

Now that the holidays are over and the kiddos are back in school, I'm trying to catch up on my blogging (can you tell? ;) We had a wonderful break.  It was SO nice not to have to be at practices every night of the week, or juggle lots of games, or have school commitments.  We had a really nice, well-rounded break: we did a lot of movie watching, stuff around the house, play dates, playing outside, movies/arcades, and more!

Christmas basketball tournament:

Parker's team played in a tourney- most of the teams were put-together teams of all stars from different schools.  Ours was just our little team (minus a couple), including two 5-year old kindergartners!  They got creamed the first 2 games...

In the elimination round, they won their first game, and then had to face one of the teams that killed them 35-9.  We all were like, this is going to be fun!

They beat them with a buzzer beater!!!!  It was amazing!!

They ended up getting runner up in the championship game- they lost by 4!  

So proud of this little rec team for hanging in there and beating these stacked teams!

Sister playdate!  Sydney and Taylor went to Main Event and spent the night with Lila and Zoe.
