Parker's winter basketball season has come to an end! There were about 30 5th grade boy's teams and they were separated into gold, silver, and bronze brackets for playoffs. Parker's team was in the silver bracket, and they made it to the championship game! They came up short, but I was really proud of them making it that far. There are some crazy good boy teams at this age!

Taylor's feeder team is a little different from her school team. It's for anyone who feeds into her high school, and they play in a league of 33 other teams from about 5 different counties. They play 1-2 games a weekend, and there are no practices (at least, not for our team... I think most other teams do practice).
Anyways, the girls ended up as the 3rd seed in their region, but made it all the way to the championship!! We had to face an undefeated team, so we knew we were coming in as underdogs... and they beat us by about 15. But, I'm super proud the girls made it that far!

School basketball is officially over! It can be exhausting (practices or games Monday-Friday, plus an additional shoot-around practice before school on game days). Two games a week, and the girls have to go to both the A and B team games, so we go straight from school and don't get home until well after 8. And, this is just the middle school team... not including her feeder teams, which plays on the weekends.
BUT... it has been a super fun season. Taylor made the A team as a 7th grader and started (and played most of) every single game. Her coach has a lot of faith and confidence in her, which I know means a lot. Taylor works hard, and even if she's having an off shooting game, she contributes all over the court in things that aren't kept as stats.
The best part of it all is... they won the county championship!!! They were the second seed going into playoffs, with the first seed being undefeated minus the one time we beat them. We shouldn't have beat them again, but we did! It was super exciting.
