The view under me in the elevator. Gasp.
But, luckily, I only had to endure that sight for 58 seconds. Then we were at the top. I can handle heights okay when I'm looking out, but not so well when I'm looking down. The view was incredible!
So, all is good... we are walking around the circular building. Then... duh duh duhhhhhh... the glass floor. It's just a little section of the floor, maybe about 15 feet long. And it's just panes of glass looking down the 147 stories onto the ground. This made me sweat. Seriously. I couldn't do it. Stephen and Sydney hopped right onto the glass, fearless. Taylor was like me and was more cautious. (though, eventually, she was enjoying her goldfish snack on one glass pane). Some kids were even jumping up and down on the glass! I wanted to yank Stephen, Sydney, and Taylor off the glass. I really did.
But then I got to thinking... I need to do this. I would regret it if I didn't. So, I took a step on it. Stephen got a shot of me, with a reluctant smile on my face. Then I hopped back off. Whew. I did it. And I will be totally happy if I don't do it ever again! ;)
We headed back down and toured the gift shop a bit. We bought one of those family pictures they take of you before you go up to the top. Then, off we went!
Whew! We survived. The weather was looking nicer, so we walked down to the waterfront. The lake (Lake Ontario) is beautiful. Where we were on this day, it looked more like a lake. However, the lake is so big that at other viewpoints from the city, it looks like the ocean! Harbourfront Centre is an area with restaurants, shops, and even a beach that we enjoyed for a while.
Then, we drove to a park. It was a 40 minute drive in traffic, so Parker and Taylor both napped. They were out. Can you tell?
We arrived at Dufferin Grove Park. It wasn't quite as cool as High Park, but there was a playground so the kids didn't care. The two parks we went to on this trip were very busy- not in a bad way, but it's cool to see families be at the park on weeknights, probably after work. There was also a farmer's market, and we enjoyed walking around that. The girls got sheep's milk ice cream. Baaaaa.

Looking down.
Snack time.
Notice I'm partially on the metal parts between the panes. ;)
The view from my feet.
Show offs.
After the glass floor, we went outside. It was so windy up there.
Yeah... thanks, but no thanks!

This is about the closest Sydney has ever been to a dog, by choice.
Hard to believe we had just been up there.
One of Toronto's beaches. Not up to Florida's standards, but pretty cool, regardless.

Farmer's Market.
Then, we headed back to the hotel. This was our last night! Stephen went to work out, so I entertained the kids by playing school and Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Donkey. When he got back, we bathed the kids and I headed out to do some shopping. Everyone seems to walk everywhere in Toronto, so even though I didn't leave until 8 PM and didn't get home until 9:30 PM, I never felt unsafe. Thursday night must be a happening night because there were street performers, a big stage set up, people with open containers of beer on the streets, all having fun.
This is what I came back to!
