Spring Break!

We celebrated Spring Break with a quick weekend trip and bunch of hanging-around town.

Friday, after school, we headed down to south GA to see Stephen's little cousin get married.  It blows my mind that when Stephen and I first started dating, his cousin was 4-1/2!  Now she's 24 and married.  Dang.

The traffic was HORRIFIC (!!!) and a normal 4.5 hour trip took us 7 hours.  Of course, it was the start of spring break week and Easter weekend, so we should've known better.

It was a fun weekend, getting to see and catch up with Stephen's fam.

The rest of the week was filled with me juggling work and entertaining the kiddos; Stephen being out of town for 3 days; soccer practice; a gigantic migraine for me one day; and more.  Here is a brief look at our spring break fun...

My kids were giant troopers.  When we got home from the museum, I took a 4 hour nap and they entertained themselves brilliantly.  They even made me this "Feel better soon" sign!

Easter

Easter was a little different in our household this year!!  Normally by Easter weekend, we have participated in several egg hunts; volunteered with church for Easter events; attended Good Friday service; and then, of course, attended Easter service and then got together with family for lunch.

This year, we didn't participate in many egg hunts (except for school ones!); didn't volunteer anywhere; didn't go to Good Friday OR Easter service (gasp!!  I know!) but did manage to meet up with my folks for an Easter dinner out Sunday late afternoon.  We were traveling this weekend, which threw any Easter plans for a loop.

On top of that, Parker was diagnosed with strep the Thursday AM before Easter, so he missed the last two days of school before break... 

Luckily, since he wasn't considered contagious, he was able to go to his Easter egg hunt at his school Friday.

Anyways, when we got back in town Sunday afternoon, after an early dinner with my parents, we found that the Easter Bunny did, in fact, find his way to our apartment.  The kiddos were so excited!  (Esp Sydney, who's kind of starting to question things... she said, "Mommy, I KNOW the Easter Bunny is real since he came while we were gone"). ;)

Ok, I'm going to have to make up for our lack of normal holiday celebrations with the next few holidays...  Christmas was different because our house was on the market, Valentine's Day was "eh" because we were about to move, and Easter was weird because we were out of town and unsettled in our new town.  What's next...?  Earth Day!  Bring it on!
