Final day of soccer

Soccer season has come to an end! As different as this league was from what the kids were used to, they really came around to enjoying it. This league didn't have goalies, but the goals were way smaller than their last league, and there was a marked area around the goal where the ball couldn't be touched (offense or defense)... so, you had to shoot the ball from farther away from the goal and be super accurate to even make it in.

We grew to know and love the coaches of their teams. They had four very dedicated- and patient!- coaches this season. It was a good way to get to know others in the area, for sure.

Parker's game:

Parker didn't end his season on a high note... he normally would be able to drive down the field and score pretty easily. The defense was tough on this one. He got frustrated and cried and didn't want to play! It was kind of a fitting way to end the season... the very first game, he was supposed to start and he walked on the field crying. Now, he ended the season crying. Sigh. I just don't understand! But, he had a really great season in the middle of the crying. ;). And he got a really cool trophy from his coach that he loves.

Taylor's game:

Taylor definitely end on a high note! She normally played defense this season, so she didn't have many opportunities to score. This game, she made 2 goals- the only two her team scored! She shot a rocket from mid-field and made it! It was awesome.

Sydney's game:

Sydney's team was playing the team they played in their very first game (where they lost something like 12-1). The league's director is one of the coaches on this team, and this team has been together for a few years. We were going into it not with high hopes, but interested to see how much the team has grown throughout the season. Sydney's team was all new- no one had ever played together- so the first game was one where everyone kind of figured some things out. By the end of the season, positions were figured out better, so we were excited to compare.

Man- Sydney's team was on FIRE! They ended up winning 2-0, with Sydney scoring the winning goal (and having an assist with the first goal). It was so exciting and I definitely had some of those obnoxious "mom on the sideline" cheering moments, for sure. It was so exciting, and it shows how far this team has come and how hard they have worked!

Sydney's team made a bet that if they won the previous game, coach would have to wear pink socks. He held up his end of the promise!

It was definitely different from what we were used to, but it ended up being a great experience. We met some really nice people, and I'm glad the kids had the opportunity to play in a different setting.

Mother's Day

We had a fun Mother's Day over here in the K-Bash household! Motherhood is the most exhausting yet fulfilling job in the world... I am so thankful for my three kiddos every single day.

I got lots of goodies that the kids made at school... they were so cute!

Mother's Day morning, we all snuggled in the bed before getting ready and going to church.

Then, Stephen planned a little hiking adventure for us. It was a 3.5 mile loop... Parker complained the first half, Taylor complained the second half... Sydney was good the whole way. Luckily, Stephen made an awesome fruit salad that we enjoyed halfway, which broke up the whining for a few minutes. ;)
