Parker's Pre-K Graduation

Parker graduated from pre-K! His school had a cute little ceremony, where the kids sang several songs and the teachers gave out some awards.

Parker is 0/5 now for class "performances"... this boy must have the worst stage fright! Stephen and I were placing bets on how he would walk in. Either a) he'd have his fingers in his mouth; b) he'd be crying or c) both. I guessed a) and Stephen guessed c). Let's see who was right...

Yep, Stephen won. Shoulda known. Poor thing! Luckily, once the ceremony was over, he was back to his normal self.

Afterwards, I took Parker putt-putting, something he's been dying to do!

So proud of my little man! Can't believe he's off to Kindergarten.

Awards Day- Taylor

Taylor's Awards Day was the day after Sydney's! Grandmom was able to make the trip, even spending the night the night before, and Parker joined us, too!

Taylor rocked the awards as well, getting the PE award (!!), Attendance, and Math! We went back to her classroom for a post-ceremony party, and Taylor won the "Mathematician" award for her class! So proud of this girl.

Awards Day- Sydney

Sydney had her awards day last week! She had to wear her "Sunday best" clothes (ha...ha... that was fun, making her wear a dress) and Stephen and I got to go watch her and her fellow 3rd graders in the school gym.

Sydney had only been there for 2.5 months (and that included spring break, milestones testing, field day and a weird end-of-school schedule), so we had kind of prepped her to not be bummed if she didn't get any awards. We were so proud and surprised... girlfriend rocked the awards!! She got the PE award (only one boy and one girl from each class got that!), she got All As, Attendance, and Math Master!

It's gonna be May

May is here and is almost over! Hard to believe. We had a busy month of end-of-year school events, soccer, Mother's Day, a wedding, pre-K graduation and more... here are some of the smaller- but just as worthy- things we did. ;)

Leighanne's (surprise!) 40th:

Swim Lessons:

Parker has been taking swimming lessons for a couple of months, but this go-round, I decided to sign Taylor and Sydney up, too! They know how to swim, but I wanted them to be pushed more to learn different strokes and skills. It turned out to be the best thing, for them and for me! They have become really strong swimmers (knowing how to do the different types of strokes), and I got to know some really nice moms whose kids go to our kids' school. Win-win!

Quick visit back to our old town!

Stephen's work accidentally sent his trade show shirts that he had to wear to our old address... the girl who lives there now texted me about it Friday night (he was flying out to the trade show Monday AM). She was sweet and offered to mail it to us, but there was no way it would make it there in time. So, we decided to make a trip out of it! We got the shirt, went to our old church and ate lunch out with friends!

First Friday:

We went to our town's First Friday event, where they had a band, food trucks, booths, etc. in downtown. It was fun!

We have found a church that we really enjoy. We've done a few events with them this month, including a newcomer dinner, a rising Kindergarten breakfast, and... Stephen and I got baptized! (We have both been baptized before, but we were both sprinkled, and this church believes in immersion so we decided to go for it!)
