Parker- Spring Baseball

 Parker played baseball this spring, and it was a fun change-of-pace from the fast sports of flag football and basketball.  He seemed to enjoy it!  His team ended up making it all the way to the finals (which was pretty unexpected) but lost by 3 runs in the championship game!  They still got rings, which I think is all Parker cared about. ;)

Knoxville

Taylor's basektball team played in a tournament earlier this month in Knoxville.  It is always a fun time, so we made a little family weekend trip out of it!

Because of Taylor's broken wrist, she wasn't able to play... but she was the best watergirl/cheerleader there was! ;)

Their first game was at 4:00 PM on Friday, and since T wasn't playing, we didn't leave school early to make it to the game.  We rode up later that evening, and our friend Jenny (one of the player's moms) rode with us!

Taylor's team ended up being 2nd place out of 34 teams from all over the midwest and south (including VA, WV, Missouri, Indiana, etc).  They played amazingly, even without Taylor and another starter, who ended up fracturing HER wrist in the final game :(  

It was a great weekend!

Sydney- Optimist Club Award

 I am so proud of Sydney.  She has had a wonderful 8th grade year, and, to top it all off, she was picked to be the Optimist Club's "Student of the Year"!  Each year, they pick a boy and a girl 5th, 8th, and 11th grader for this award.  Out of the ~550 8th grade students at our school, they picked Sydney!

They celebrated with a breakfast, and called each person up and gave them their awards.  Our principal and the 8th grade AP joined us.  It was a great morning!
