Cross Country- The Rest of the Season

Sydney and Taylor wrapped up their cross country season in November!  Sydney only ended up running maybe 3 races this season, between taking the SAT on one of the days and having hip pain on a couple of others.  She was able to participate in the county race, and got a PR and 22nd place (JV)!  Taylor was able to run in almost all of the races, missing one for a basketball event.  She placed 5th in county (JV) and all 4 teams from their high school won county!  In fact, in each of the races, their high school placed 1st for the individual runners.  

Side note: Their high school is very stacked in athletics across the board.  With XC, every girl on Varsity runs under 20 minutes, and half of them have run under 19.  The boys- our top runner runs under 15 and the next fastest runs in the 15:20s.  Our top JV boy runner runs in the 17s and our top JV girl runner is well under 21 minutes.

Anyways, here are some pics from the last few races with cross country!  It was a good season.  I'm not sure if Sydney will do it again next year... her poor body just hurts, between her knees and her hips.  Taylor will probably do it again- it was fantastic training for basketball!

Sectionals:

Taylor ran in this race as "Varsity, Bottom 7" (top 14 girls in total on the team got to run).  She didn't PR but ran 21:49, she was 19th out of 90 runners.  Her team got 3rd place in the region!

End of Season Banquet:

Sydney got the Academic Excellence award and Taylor lettered and got the "Rising Star" trophy.  Her coach told me he thinks she'll be in the 19s next season...  I guess we'll see!

Halloween was very different this year!  Parker went around the neighborhood with his friends.  Taylor and her friend trick-or-treated for about 30 minutes before heading to their high school's football game.  Sydney went to the game, but went to a party the next night with friends.  Here are some pics!

Parker's Homecoming Dance

Parker's middle school had their homecoming dance in early October!  He didn't have a date this year and instead went with some friends.  Looks like he had a blast!
