January!

January always feels like the longest month.  Ours was consumed by basketball, but also Sydney starting track!  Her doctor cleared her to do "normal" track events (straight running- no hurdles, long jump, etc) so she jumped right into training.  Unfortunately I think her body went into shock- she ended up straining her hip flexor and has had to take 6 weeks off.  Definitely a bummer!  But, I'm thankful she's able to do a sport. :)

Anyways, besides sports, here is what we did in January!

Taylor Basketball... So far

Taylor's school team season is halfway over, which is hard to believe.  There are two teams, A & B.  For those who make teams- if you're a 6th grader, you have to make the B team (as Taylor did last year).  If you're an 8th grader, you have to make the A team.  7th graders can go either way.  Taylor ended up making the A team, along with just 2 other 7th graders! (2 of the 7th graders start every game, too)

It's been a fun season, and the challenge of playing against good 7th and 8th graders on other A teams has been good.  They've won 6 and lost 3, but the competition makes them better.

Here are some pics of her season so far!

Fun pep rallies, both at the middle and the high school:
