November Stuff

November is flying by!  Thanksgiving is in a few days, and then before you know it, it will be Christmas and then 2017.  C-r-a-z-y.

Here's what our November has looked like, so far!

Mountains, Reunion and a Wedding

My cousin, Katherine, got married a couple of weeks ago up in Greenville, South Carolina.  It was black tie, adults only, so my sister and I decided to leave the hubbies with the kids and be each others' dates!  We jammed the whole 2.5 hour trip up there.

The wedding was beautiful.  It was at a gorgeous church downtown (the one my Grandmother attended for many, many years.  I hadn't been there since her funeral 9 years ago) and the reception was at a beautiful mansion.  This house was unreal.  The dance floor actually went over the pool.  Very cool!

We talked, caught up with family, ate some yummy food, drank some yummy drinks, and then headed out.  Next stop: 5 minutes down the road to my dad's 50th college reunion!  My sister and I crashed the lively party, band, food, drinks and all (there were more classes there than just the class of 1966, so we didn't stick out too terribly much).  Several of my dad's classmates were there.  It was nice.  We even met the guy who almost ruined my and my sister's existence! (my mom was supposed to go on a blind date with this certain guy, he ended up getting sick, my dad was back in town from his gymnastics meet and didn't have a date, so he filled in.  The rest is history...)

We drove to the mountain house and spent the night there.  Two of my dad's college classmates (who have been married all these years) stayed the night there with us.  They used to live in our neighborhood in Atlanta growing up, but moved when I was about 10, and I haven't really seen them since!  It was fun to catch up.

Kendall and I headed back home after breakfast and a walk.  A short, but fun, trip!

Bleh

We have been SICK lately in our household.  It started off with Taylor a few weeks ago.  One week, she had a virus, and less than a week later, she had strep.  My sanitizing efforts failed, as Parker ended up with strep the next week, followed by yours truly.  Strep rash and everything.  Strep isn't fun, but at least you can take medicine and know that you should be on the up-and-up soon.  The only problem was that my strep turned into a yucky cold/cough/chest gunk/snot galore/no motivation/don't want to do anything/especially clean kind of thing.  I finally am feeling a little more energetic this past week.  Sydney and Stephen avoided the strep, but Sydney's had a bad cough and cold for a few days.  'Tis the season, I suppose.

GOOD STUFF!  I never want to take for granted actually feeling well.  This is getting old!

Poor Taylor.  You could just look at her and tell she wasn't feeling well.  She had to miss 5 out of 7 days of school!

Snap Chat

Have you downloaded the app called Snap Chat?  I couldn't have cared less about it, but the 6th grader I watch after school convinced me to download it.  It is SO. MUCH. FUN.  I admit it.  They have these little filters that, when you put your phone in selfie mode, will pop up on your face.  The girls and I have fun with this, and I always get a kick out of finding random Snap Chat shots the girls have done without me knowing.
