Holy cow... how is it mid-March already??  2017 is FLYING!

Basket Raffle:

THIS has been taking up the majority of my last couple of weeks.  I'm in charge of the Room Moms at the school, and they are in charge of doing the themed basket for their classes for our annual fundraiser.  After many hours of working, wrapping, photographing, transporting items, they are done!  Woot.

It always seems to be Lego time in our house. (in case you were wondering, those little houses didn't last long.  Parker totally knocked them all apart about an hour later. :()

5K/Mile Fun Run

Last weekend, Stephen, Sydney, Taylor and I participated in their school's 5K and Mile Fun Run!  Sydney and Stephen did the 5K together, while Taylor and I did the mile run.  It was a chilly morning, but there were several friends and teachers that were participating, so the fun crew made up for it... a bit.

The Mile Fun Run was first.  Taylor and I waited with the group for the man to say "GO!".  And when he did, my faithful running partner took OFF!  I mean, full speed ahead, Taylor went!  I was trying to catch up to no avail.  Finally, towards the end, she slowed up a bit and we finished the race together.  You know how fast we were going?  We finished a mile in 7:30.  I'm such a slow runner that this is like an Olympic record to me.

Next was Sydney and Stephen!  They ran down the road the school that our 'hood is off of, going down and turning around to come back.  This course is both good and bad.  The good part?  The first half is almost all downhill.  The bad part?  The second half is... you guessed it... almost all uphill.  It has killed me each time I've run it.  I was thinking their time would be like 35-40 minutes.  Those two  ended up running it in about 31 minutes!  They never once stopped to walk.  Sydney amazes me with her little athletic ability and drive.  Wish I could have some of that. ;)

New living room!

Yes, things are a-changing yet again in our household!  Stephen and I had talked about getting a new couch in the next few months... our couches have been really good to us, but after 12.5 years, we're ready for something new.  And, to be honest, we want a firmer couch- both Stephen and I have some back issues now and the soft, plush couches were no bueno.  Seriously, when did we get to be so old?? ;)

Anywho, we ran by a couple furniture stores one Saturday when we happened to be by the mall, and fell in love with this one couch.  It wasn't really the color or the fabric we were thinking in our heads, but one time sitting on this couch sealed the deal!  It is AMAZING!  There are 4 built-in recliners and USB ports on either end.  Definitely way cooler than what was out there 12 years ago.

Then, we had to rearrange a few more things- some furniture and wall pictures.  Plus, we had the tv wired to go over the mantle, and it swivels so we can watch it from the kitchen or on the couch.  I love it, and have already spent many-a-hours watching Netflix on it. :)

We ended up selling the couch in the bottom left corner, so now the room is a lot more open.

ahhhh

Probably my favorite part?  When I pick Parker up from school, the first thing he wants to do is sit with me, under the blanket, recliner out, and "snuggle".

February Break

The kiddos had a whole week off of school in February.  And, what do you know... Stephen was gone Monday morning until Thursday night!  I'm sensing a common theme with Stephen's travel schedule and the kids' vacation schedule... hmmmm... ;)

We didn't go out of town anywhere, but I tried to keep the kids entertained!  Because, let's face it- lingering around the house too long gets them on each others' last nerves.  (heck, mine, too!) (But I sure do love them.)
