Summer- week 8

Week 8!!!  Holy cow!

This week was more eventful than last week- the kids went to camp all week!  Their initial "I don't want to go"s disappeared after the first day.  Parker's tears on Monday turned into a gentle push and a "Bye Mom" a few feet before his room every day after that.  Hey, I went with it- peace out!  Ready for some "me" time!

Meanwhile, I got stuff done at the house, got a pedicure, did some shopping, and kind of didn't use my brain.

Get Air:

5K Race:  A group of friends from church ran a 5K on Saturday!  I really haven't been running much but actually did okay, for me!  The race ended uphill, so that of course got in my head and I had to walk.  But besides that, it was good and fun... and hot!.

Other fun: Sydney had a sleepover at Izzy's, several play dates with Peyton, our friends Ashley, Landon and Sutter came to visit, evening walks in the 'hood with a neighbor friend, Stephen was out of town for 3 days and we survived...

Summer- week 7

Summer is almost over!  Hard to believe.

We had another busy week (week 7), but tried to tie in some fun as well.

On a happy note, we closed on Rental House Numero Uno this week!  Hallelujah!  Here's to numero dos...

Backyard shenanigans: We pulled out the blow-up pool, the water table, and the sprinkler.  Here are some of the shots I thought were funny. ;)

Other things we did this week: Spent one day up at my parents' house, church dinner/small group, a park run with some friends, Amazon Prime Day shopping, and a lot of chilling out with the fam.

Summer- week 6

Week 6 of summer is in the books... hard to believe how fast time is going by!  We had a really fun week this week, but not many pictures to show of it.


Roller skating!  (This was on the 4th of July and we had the whole place to ourselves for the first 30 minutes- it was awesome)

Summer- week 5

Well, this was an eventful week.  Monday, we got back from our trip to Pigeon Forge.  On Tuesday, I took Sydney to get a haircut, and guess what the lady found?  Yep.  Lice.  UGGGGGGHHHHH.  We made it almost 9 years without a lice infestation in our family.

I bought a kit at the haircut place and we started tackling it.  (The lady checked P and T and they didn't have any, thank goodness).  After the first day, for the next 2 days, I didn't find any more bugs in her hair.  Until day 3... I found ONE.  That prompted me to look through Taylor's hair and I saw little nits.  UGGHGHGHGGHGH.  So, we treated her hair, too.  The next morning (Saturday), we were supposed to head to the mountain house for the weekend.  However, when I checked Taylor's hair on this day, she had more than just nits. :( Then, I checked Parker- first comb-through, lice.  I checked myself- first comb-through, lice.  (Seriously, it makes me itch to even type about it).  I checked Stephen- oh wait, he doesn't have any hair!  He was good.  ;P

But seriously, this was freaking me out.  I made an appointment at a lice removal place for me and the girls.  We ended up just shaving off all of Parker's hair.  Like, a total shave.  (OMG!  He looks so different!).

The girls and I spent 2 hours getting our hair combed through by lice professionals.  (Seriously, that has to be one of the top 5 worst jobs ever). Thankfully, they said they got it all.

So, lice basically ruined our week.  When I knew the lice was active, we didn't do much.  When I thought the lice was inactive, we did a little bit (only to find out later that it may not have been inactive).  We had to cancel the trip to the mountains, which completely stunk all around.  (This is the big 4th of July weekend where everyone is up, they have the big square-dance and picnic and lots of fun activities).  So, we tried to make the best of this sucky week.  At least everything in our house is washed, vacuumed, cleaned, sanitized now.

Ok, enough about lice... it's seriously making me itch.  I'm sure I'm making you scratch your head, too, right?

Also, my phone ended up basically dying (remember the water damage from Disney?), so my whole day Wednesday was spent between the Apple Store and the AT&T store, dragging three not-so-content kids with me.  I did come out with a new phone, so that's a good thing.  (minus the bill of having to pay for it)

Here's what else we did this week!

Tackling the children's closet at church... we pulled everything out, organized, and then put it all in.  This took forever!
