Sydney- 5th Grade

We took some pictures of Sydney at her school, just to have memories of her last year there.  It stinks that her 5th grade year was cut short, but, on the flip side, it definitely will be a year she won't forget!

We utilized the dress and shoes we bought for her Jr. Beta induction (which she had to miss due to the stomach bug) and her awards' day (had to miss because of good ol' Covid).  This girl doesn't wear dresses ever (!) but it was nice to be able to put the dress to use.

5th Grade "Fly By"

Since the 5th graders didn't get to do their normal "send off" activities this year, their school planned a "fly by" parade.  We all met at our church down the road, lined up by homeroom class, and caravanned over to the school.  People decked their cars out; kids were hanging out of the sun roofs; we had a police escort; people were pulling over thinking we were a funeral (?! Some interesting funeral!).

We got to the school, and all the teachers and administrators (even the head janitor!) were there!

This was a sweet and special memory for Sydney to end elementary school on.  It's definitely something she won't forget!

Last day of school!

We ended the school year 2.5 weeks earlier than normal, due to all the coronavirus junk.  We "home schooled" for 8 weeks, and I have to say- the kids and the teachers were fantastic.  They all rolled with this situation and everything went very smoothly.  The kids got up, knew to get started, and they would crank their work out.  I would have to sit with Parker to get his work done, but the girls were breezes.  There was the occasional meltdown, for sure, but overall, it was just fine.

For the last day of school, each grade had set awards day times.  The awards were only "fun" awards, not the normal academic awards that are given at the big ceremony.

I'm so proud of these three.  Off to 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades!

Mother's Day

My sweet family surprised me with going on a hike for Mother's Day!  Since we were quarantined, I got to order Outback to be delivered for dinner.  I'm so blessed to have these 3 as my kiddos!
