Success!

I have survived my first morning and evening with the 3 kiddos by myself!  Woohoo!!!  And, to be honest, it wasn't that bad.

Stephen went to the gym early this morning, leaving me to get the kids ready and the girls to school (oh yeah, and me ready, but that kind of goes by the wayside).  I got them up, dressed, teeth/hair brushed, a small snack before medicine, Parker fed, dressed, changed, in the car, and to school by 7:15!

So, this evening, Stephen had a client in town whom he took out to dinner after golf (must be nice!).  So, he wasn't home until about 10 PM.  I picked the girls up around 5:00, we went through the Chick-fil-a drive-thru, made it home, ate dinner, took a bath, fed Parker, folded clothes, put up dishes, washed bottles, read stories, brushed teeth, said prayers, and got the girls in bed!  And, so far (knock on wood!), they are sound asleep.

So glad I was able to survive this "first" with the kids.

Here are some random pictures to enjoy!

I'm crazy

So... being pregnant is such a wonderful blessing.  Sure, you go through ups and downs in your 40 weeks, and it's probably the most stressful period of time a woman goes through.  But, the outcome is wonderful and worth it.

However... once you have the baby, you start realizing how much your body has changed and wonder how the heck you will ever get it back!

I gained a ton of weight with all 3 pregnancies- 63 with Sydney, 57 with Taylor, and 60 with Parker.  Luckily, the first 35 pounds come off pretty quickly- having big babies and all the swelling going away really help the cause.  But, the rest is hard work and dedication.  I was able to do it with my first two, but I'm worried my motivation will be nonexistent this go-round.

So, I've decided to get back into running.  It's something I've missed doing these`last 9 months.  Running is really the best way to get me in shape.  I've decided to do a certain race that I did back in 2004- the Country Music 1/2 Marathon in Nashville next April.  There are great training schedules to follow, which I plan on doing.  I'm not going to put so much pressure on myself to run the entire 13 miles.  Even if I only run 8-9 miles, I'll still be in better shape than I am now.

There you have it.  I'm writing about this for no other reason than to hold myself accountable.  I am also going to start posting my weekly trainings... again, mostly for myself to be able to document, reference, and to make me feel really bad if I skip out on exercising. ;)

I'm not supposed to "exercise" until week 6 after Parker, but I can walk.  I'll post my trainings on a Sunday-Saturday schedule.

Crazy?  3 kids, going to be working full-time, and training for this?  Yes, I question it, too.  BUT, you have to make time for yourself, your health, and your well-being.  I will need to remember this when things get chaotic!

Wish me luck!

I heart the fall

We decided to do something fun and fall-ish today with the girls and the guy.  It was a beautiful day- a little chilly in the AM, but it warmed up pretty nicely by lunchtime.  We headed to Stone Mountain to check out their fall festival.  Little did we know it was about $30 a pop to get in (eek!).  We thought it wouldn't be worth it, considering Taylor would be taking a nap within a couple of hours... and, our girls wouldn't be able to enjoy most of the activities you could do for the $30.  So, we decided just to walk around the park and let the girls explore.  Parker slept the entire time, except when he drank his bottle.  It was a fun day!

The Many Faces of Sydney

Sydney is so expressive with her face... you can see the drama and emotions pouring out of her.  Here's a taste of my sweet drama queen!

Happy Fall, Y'all

Fall is officially here!  As hot as I was the last few weeks/couple months of my pregnancy, I am now officially back to being my normal cold self.  But, I am totally digging this weather, so I will not complain!

We have had a busy couple of weeks!  Parker has been such a good baby that it's easy to take him out and about.  We have gone to some restaurants, shopping centers, grandparents' house, fall festival, and grandmom's church, to name a few.  He'll sleep the whole time away, and it allows mommy to avoid going stir crazy!

My brother and his wife and daughter, Olivia, came in town last weekend from Nashville.  We had a blast getting to spend time with them, and they enjoyed meeting their nephew!

Taylor has been sick this week, so I kept her home with me for two days.  She had a fever and bad chest congestion.  Luckily, with all her medications, she has started to clear up pretty quickly.  Stephen's had a cough for several weeks, and now my mom and I are both coming down with something, too.  Here's hoping Parker can steer clear of all this junk going around!

Here are some pictures from our recent adventures:

While I'm up with Parker, I thought I'd try to post some random phone pics from the last few days.
