Surviving

Surviving has been my goal lately.  We just need to get through these next few weeks!  I have been utterly exhausted, even though, most nights, I get more than enough sleep.  The kids at school are off the chain.  My student teacher is long gone (sniff sniff) and we're being pulled in so many directions at work.  We've also been really busy with the kids lately.  Stephen's been traveling every week, so the whole rat race in the morning and the nighttime routine in the evening, is all on me.

On the plus side, I had 3 personal days to spend and I'm spending them.  I have my last one this week.  Last week was only a 3 day week, due to one personal day and one day taken to go to a funeral in South Carolina.  I got to see part of Sydney's field day last week, and I'll get to see her end-of-the-year program next week.  Yay!

Anyways, here's a quick update on the latest hustle and bustle that is our life right now.

 I'm trying to run more lately after school (you know, when I'm just full of energy!)  This is my usual view on those (ahem) runs.

as you can see, some people wear normal hats, some are really fancy, and some are really funny/  (Like my sister's hat a few years ago... a flower pot turned into a hat.  "pot head"  Gotta love that sense of humor, especially at a church ;)

My kids grab my phone off my desk all the time and snap pictures.  This was in a series of pictures taken that if you flip through them, you can see all my actions and facial expressions like a movie.  The best facial expressions are when I catch what they are doing and give them the evil eye.  I do love my kids.  Though sometimes, in homeroom, I wish they'd just leave me alone.  Every once in a while. ;)

Happenings

I haven't blogged in a while, mainly because nothing very exciting is going on!  It rained for about 40 days and 40 nights, so we have had a lot of inside time lately.  We've been trying to keep our house clean for potential lookers, which is not an easy feat with three little kiddos.  We've been invaded with sicknesses, and Stephen is up in Ohio training for his new job.  Plus, his travel schedule is going to be crazy for the next few months.  We just wrapped up the Milestones test at school.  So much going on!  When does school end again??  (ahem, 22 more days)

I locked my keys inside the house, and both spares were MIA!  We had to kill 30 minutes outside until...

Sydney and Taylor both had strep this week.  Sydney had a fever the night before our last day of testing, and my AP told me to bring her in to school!  She sat in her office and played/drew while I tested my kiddos, then we went to the doctor to get medicine for her strep.  Sydney loved the big cafeteria.

We dined at CFA before the doc.  We were playing truth or dare, and I dared her to balance a fry on her nose.

More sun!  This is post-rain.  It's amazing the jeeps didn't get stuck in the mud.

Spring Break

Ahhh, the much needed Spring Break is here!  And guess where we went?... NOWHERE!  Woohoo!  We were invited to go to my cousin's house in Charleston, along with my sister and fam, but we just had too much going on.

Last weekend, we ended up putting our house on the market, so that, along with all of our Easter activities, kept us on the go.

This week has completely flown by.  Monday, I took the kiddos to daycare and did things around the house/ran errands.  Tuesday and Thursday, Stephen and I did a little house-hunting.  We want to be prepared if/when someone wants to buy our house!  It ate up both days, but I think we got some good information.

Wednesday, Stephen and I took the girls to Stone Mountain.  It was the one day this week where the forecast wasn't bad, and I think everyone, their brother, AND their aunt decided to go, too!  It was kind of a bust.  The girls wanted to do the Sky Hike, which, from the ground, didn't look so bad. Stephen got in line and I took the girls to the little kid area where they could do obstacle courses.

I traded with Stephen, and he took the girls to play while I was in line.  I was waiting in line for about 45 minutes when we got to the point that said, "Your wait time from this point is 60 minutes."  What?!?!  Well, there was no going back then.  When we finally got up there, we all started off fine.  After doing the course for about 2 minutes, Taylor flipped out.  I took her back.  Then, Sydney was flipping out but kept going.  The problem was, she was going so slowly.  She'd stop on a little deck and cry her little eyes out (bless her heart!) and then would go.  Finally, she got to a point where there was an emergency exit, and she was able to go down that.  Let's just say the whole ordeal took 3 hours.  Never. Again.  At least, not until they are maybe 12.  Poor Sydney told me later that she kept going because I "had waited in line so long" and she "didn't want to waste it".  Isn't that sweet?  I told her anytime she's not comfortable doing something, it doesn't matter how long we had to wait, she should stop.

After that, Sydney couldn't stop crying and had a headache.  We went to eat lunch, and by then, everything had a crazy line... the train, the 4-D movie.  We ended up going to the Geyser Towers, which is like a huge playground with water.  They played about an hour, and then we left.

This totally makes me never want to go to Disney World!  We so didn't get our money's worth out of those tickets.  But, at least we know better now and I'm glad they enjoyed the Geyser Towers for a while.

That afternoon, I picked up Parker from daycare and took him to get a haircut.

The kiddos have had a good time, I think.  They've done fun things each day at daycare, like a fieldtrip to a park, ice cream truck, little arts & craft activities, etc.  They've had fun playing at home in the afternoons.  Parker has a dentist appointment, and I hope to take the girls to see Cinderella this weekend.  Then... back to school!!!  Noooo!!  Though only 30 more days... I think I can, I think I can!

Happy Easter, everybody!

We had a great weekend, which was filled with lots of family time and events for the kiddos.

Sydney had her school party and egg hunt on Thursday, and Taylor and Parker had theirs on Friday.  Of course, I was unable to attend any of them, but one of the moms sent me some pictures of Taylor's.  Here is Taylor and her bestie Samantha.

Friday evening, we grabbed some Mexican food (and were reminded why we rarely go out to eat with the 3 kiddos!) and then headed to church for the Good Friday service.

Saturday AM, I met my 3 BFFs from high school for brunch in Dunwoody.  It was so good to be reunited!

I then met my sister and nieces at the Mall of GA to take them back with us!  When we got home, we headed across the street to a little 'hood Easter egg hunt.

Then, we went straight to the egg hunt and carnival at our church!

We got home, ate pizza, dyed some eggs, watched the new Annie movie, and then c-r-a-s-h-e-d.  I was exhausted!

This morning, we got up, went to church, and then headed to my sister's house for lunch and another fun egg hunt!  We also got to celebrate my niece's birthday- she's almost TEN!

It was a great holiday.  He is risen!  He is risen indeed!
