Summer Vacay, Day 6

Our final day of vacation has arrived! :(  We woke up in Portland but had to head back to Seattle to catch our flight back home.  Luckily, our flight didn't leave until about 3 PM, so we had some time.

We got the car packed up and headed on our way.  The weather was much clearer this morning, so we thankfully didn't have to drive in the rain.

We made it to Tacoma, which is a little south of Seattle, and decided to stop at a park for the kiddos to get out and play.  This was going to be a day with a lot of sitting, so we tried to take advantage of some extra time that we had so they could use their leg muscles.

We stopped at a little sandwich shop near the airport for lunch, and then headed to our plane.  The little excitement was that President Obama was scheduled to land at the Seattle airport at 3:20, and we were supposed to take off at 2:55.  They were shutting down the airport at 3:00, and no planes could take off or land until they reopened.  The flight attendants and pilots were rushing to get everyone in so we could take off by 3...  otherwise, we'd have to sit on the runway until it was reopened. We made it by 4 minutes!  Whew.
